Concerned about the quality of your bottles? You should be, because not all wine bottles are created equal, as not all manufacturers adhere to the same standards for material quality and safety. That's why Glopak sends all of its wine and spirit bottles for SGS testing and certification prior to distribution.
We give our valued customers peace of mind by conducting heavy metal testing through SGS, a globally accredited independent third part testing company.
With each batch that comes off the line, Glopak offers SGS certifications that prove our bottles exceed FDA standards for heavy metal content. To be more specific, our bottles are tested for complience with FDA regulation CPG 545.400 and CPG 545.450 for glass and ceramic articles used in contact with food. This means our glass is certified to contain levels of leachable lead and cadmium below the limit set by the FDA. Sounds scary, but while these elements cannot be eliminated, the levels contained in our glass a far below the acceptable limits set by the FDA, and we have the paperwork to prove it!
Does your currently supplier offer SGS certification, or any other certification regarding material safety?
